What to wear to your Christmas Mini Session
Not sure what to wear for your Christmas Mini Session? I've put together a few tips to help make choosing outfits a little easier!
Choosing Your Colours
My Christmas Mini setups are usually kept neutral and white, which means you have plenty of flexibility when it comes to outfits.
Most families tend to go for soft neutrals, or neutrals with a little pop of Christmas colour. Both photograph beautifully!
Some of my favourite colours include:
Neutrals: Cream, white, beige, oatmeal and soft browns.
Christmas colours: Deep reds, burgundy and forest green.
Earthy tones: Rust, tan, olive and warm browns.
You definitely don't need to dress everyone in matching outfits (unless you want to go matching Christmas PJs which is fun!). Choosing a few colours that complement each other is a lovely way to keep everything looking cohesive without being too matchy.
Where to Shop
If you're still on the hunt for outfits, here are a few places I've seen some beautiful pieces for little ones:

Target
And don't feel like you need to buy anything new! You might already have something perfect in your wardrobe. You could also check out Depop, Vinted or even Facebook Marketplace.
Most Importantly...
Choose outfits that you feel comfortable in and that feel like your family. There's no need to overthink it!
A Little Tip for Families with Toddlers
If you're feeling a little nervous about how your toddler/kids will go during their session, it can really help to chat with them about it beforehand. Tell them they're coming to see me (Madi), that we're going to take some photos and have a bit of fun. You can even let them know I might say some silly things to make them laugh! A little preparation can go a long way in helping them feel comfortable and excited.
With years of experience photographing little ones, and two of my own, I know all too well how unpredictable kids can be! Rest assured, Iβll bring plenty of patience, a few tricks up my sleeve and do everything I can to capture some beautiful photos of your family.
Pro tip: Make sure they are fed before your session (we all get a little hangry if we are hungry π€ͺ)
I can't wait to see you all and capture some beautiful Christmas memories!
