Ring Sling Baby Carrier - Do You Need One?

Before I had my baby I knew I wanted to try baby carrying but had no idea what the differences were between all the different types. 8 months into motherhood and I’m now a ring sling convert and will recommend it to any new mummas. Keep reading to find out why.

What is a Ring Sling?
A ring sling is a large piece of rectangle fabric with 2 durable rings sewn in one end which creates a sling to carry your baby in.

Pros
The reason why I choose it over other carriers is because I like the convenience that It can fold up super small and go in my handbag. Not to mention it looks amazing! Once you get the hang of it, it’s super easy to use and is suitable for newborns right through to toddlerhood.

Cons
The only thing if I was to be picky is that it can take a while to get use to . There’s a certain technique to make sure the fabric sits where you need it to so that both you and bub are comfortable. But a few youtube videos later and a bit of practice and you’ll be a pro in no time.

My Sling
I purchased my ring sling from Mumma Etc. When I came across their insta I fell in love. Plus they have heaps of super helpful videos on how to use the sling. I have the RUSSET DOUBLE SLING (picture below) as I like the fact you can where it well into toddlerhood. It pairs well with neutrals and I absolutely just love the warm earthy vibe.

The ring sling get’s my vote 👍👍👍

PS. How good did my husband go with taking these photos! I mean I set it all up so he literally just had to press a button but still I guess I should give him some credit. 🤪
